HAGATNA, Guam — The U.S. Air Force said Friday a B-52 crashed on Guam shortly after takeoff, but all seven crew members made it out safely. No injuries were reported.

The plane aborted on takeoff and caught fire at about 8:30 a.m., Pacific Air Forces public affairs said in an email. It crashed on the flight line of the base.

The bomber was deployed to Guam from Minot, North Dakota, as part of the military’s continuous bomber presence in the Pacific, The Air Force said. The crew members are with the 69th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron and were performing a routine training mission, it said.

The incident is under investigation. Officials were taking steps to mitigate possible unspecified environmental effects, the Air Force said.

Two US Navy F/A-18s have collided off the coast of North Carolina and their pilots are being flown to the hospital.
US Coast Guard Petty Officer Fagal Niffin told the Virginian-Pilot that four people had been recovered from the crash and were being airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.
The two planes collided with each other about 25 miles east of the Oregon Inlet off the coast of North Carolina. The US Coast Guard, and a local fishing vessel in the area, responded to distress calls to come to the aid of the pilots, WVEC, an ABC affiliate, reports.
A Navy official has told ABC News that the pilots ejected safely from their planes and that the Coast Guard is continuing to search for the location of the aircraft.
The two jets were conducting routine training over the area at the time of the collision. A Naval Air Force Atlantic officials has told Reuters that the Navy will conduct a "mishap investigation" over the cause of the incident.
ABC affiliate WCTI12 reports that all four pilots were picked up by a local fishing vessel, before being airlifted to the hospital by a Coast Guard helicopter. Three of the pilots apparently are in good condition, while the fourth pilot has a leg injury.

F-16, small plane collide over South Carolina

(CNN)A U.S. Navy Blue Angels F/A-18 jet and an Air Force Thunderbirds F-16 crashed Thursday in separate incidents in Tennessee and Colorado, officials said.
The Blue Angels pilot was killed, Smyrna, Tennessee, town manager Harry Gill told reporters. There were no civilian injuries, he said. The Thunderbirds pilot safely ejected, officials said.
The Thunderbirds F-16 crashed south of Colorado Springs, Colorado, after it and other Thunderbirds flew over a U.S. Air Force Academy commencement ceremony attended by President Barack Obama.

Lt. Col. Christopher Hammond, commander of the Air Force's Thunderbirds demonstration team, told reporters that the pilot, Maj. Alex Turner, experienced an unspecified problem as he was trying to land after the flyover and ejected.
"He had already put his gear down, and that's when the incident occurred," Hammond said, adding that Turner radioed that he was maneuvering so he wouldn't hit any houses. "He made a conscious effort to direct his aircraft away from some of the local neighborhoods."

1/2 Maj. Alex Turner ejected successfully from his F-16 today 1 p.m. following fly-over of the @AF_Academy grad'n.
6:33 PM - 2 Jun 2016

Turner is in his first air-show season with the Thunderbirds, having joined the team in October. He has flown in 22 shows so far, Hammond said. Turner has more than 1,500 hours in F-16s and was a very experienced pilot before joining the Thunderbirds, Hammond said.
The crash occurred 5 nautical miles south of Peterson Air Force base, well away from the stadium where the military branch's ceremony was taking place, officials said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.

There were no reported casualties on the ground, though the plane was badly damaged, said Robb Lingley of the Peterson Air Force Base public affairs department.
President Obama later met with the pilot when he visited the air force base.
"The President thanked the pilot for his service to the country and expressed his relief that the pilot was not seriously injured. The President also thanked the first responders who acted quickly to tend to the pilot," White House press secretary Josh Earnest said.
Hours later, a U.S. Navy Blue Angels F/A-18 crashed in Smyrna, Tennessee, during practice for an upcoming air show, Navy spokeswoman Cmdr. Jeanette Groeneveld said.

A Navy statement said the service was in the process of notifying the pilot's family and the pilot's name was being withheld.
The crash occurred at the beginning of practice, just after the pilot took off, the Navy said. The plane went down about 2 miles from the Smyrna airport.
None of the five other Blue Angels jets was involved in the incident.
"My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the Blue Angels after this tragic loss," Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson said. "I know that the Navy and Marine Corps team is with me. We will investigate this accident fully and do all we can to prevent similar incidents in the future."
Smyrna Fire Chief Bill Culbertson said there were already units on the flight line so his crews were able to respond to the crash scene within minutes.
The crash occurred near a former plantation called the Sam Davis Home that is a tourist site, and it also wasn't far from an apartment complex, Culbertson said.
CNN's Karan Olson, Jason Hanna, Joe Sutton and Antoine Sanfuentes contributed to this report.
